Carter Burden Leonard Covello Senior Program

Covello Building Facade

Carter Burden/Leonard Covello Senior Program (Covello Program) is one of NYC’s Innovative Senior Centers that provides socialization, recreation and education through a wide array of daily activities free of charge.

It serves congregate meals at breakfast and lunch and offers programs including yoga, art, movies, dance classes, day trips, computer training and holiday parties. The Covello Center will be adding cooking classes for young people of the community so that they can give back but also learn valuable job skills that will, in turn, enhance the community.  Case assistance is offered to members/participants who need help in applying for government benefit programs, addressing landlord/tenant disputes, or accessing medical care.

The Covello Program is located in East Harlem, a primarily Hispanic community, and occupies a 28,125 square foot building. It is open to anyone over the age 60 or older, regardless of where s/he lives.

Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday-Sunday 9am-4:30pm
