“I saw a photo of a deer; it fascinated me. I decided to see if I could replicate it in clay giving it a ‘deerie’ look. When I first worked it into the clay, I was not thinking. Looking at the tile, all I could say was: NOW WHAT? Since the tile was thick, I started scraping levels into it. The levels became roads in my mind. Coming from a small town in Pennsylvania many a deer/auto collision took place during hunting season. Which is more ENDANGERED the deer or the auto passengers as such accidents are sudden?” – Levy
