Please check out this article by Winnie Hu of the New York Times who interviewed Carter Burden Center seniors and Mary Dodd, Director of Social Services, for this important article which sheds light on the problems many are having re-applying for food stamps; a problem which only increases their food insecurity. Also featured in the article is City Councilman Ben Kallos, who is attempting to address the problem with legislation.
